The Second CHMK National Forum on Media Reform Held at University of Sulaimani
On Monday and Tuesday, May 26–27, 2025, the second CHMK National Forum on Media Reform convened at the congress hall of Sulaimani University under the theme “Media Environment and the Need to Organize.”
The forum opened with Iraqi First Lady Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmad inaugurating an exhibition featuring cartoons focused on women’s rights, environmental issues, and children’s welfare.
CHMK Hosts Landmark National Forum on Media Reform in Sulaimani
The Kurdish Media Watchdog Organization (CHMK.ORG) successfully convened the first CHMK National Forum on Media Reform in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Sponsored by the Kirkuk Media Agency, the event took place on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Dawa Hall, gathering a distinguished assembly of government officials, party representatives, academics, and veteran journalists.

The CHMK National Forum for Media Reform is a major scientific conference organized by the Kurdish Media Watchdog Organization (CHMK) to address the challenges of media independence and journalistic ethics. It serves as a platform bringing together academics, policymakers, and media experts to develop sustainable, evidence-based policy recommendations for the Kurdistan Region of Iraq
